My Journey to Acupuncture
I graduated from the Notre Dame of Maryland University, School of Integrative Health (Formerly Tai Sophia Institute) in 2000, but my journey with acupuncture began long before that.
As a teenager, I suffered from severe migraines that interfered with my ability to attend school and live normally. At the time, my only option through Western medicine was strong pain medication, with no real understanding of why the migraines were happening or how to prevent them. When the treatments weren’t helping me get my life back, my mother took me to an acupuncturist who had successfully treated her chronic back pain. That decision changed everything.
Through acupuncture, I began to understand the root causes of my migraines and how certain patterns, stressors, and habits were triggering them. Within a month, my headaches became less frequent and less intense. Over time, they grew shorter and eventually far more manageable. Most importantly, I learned that by listening to my body and responding to its signals, I could reduce their impact—and regain control of my health.
That experience shaped the way I practice today.
My Philosophy of Care
I believe true healing happens when we understand our bodies and work with them, not against them. Acupuncture is a powerful tool, but education and awareness are just as important.
I work closely with each patient to:
Relieve pain and discomfort
Restore physical and emotional balance
Identify patterns and triggers that affect health
Provide practical tools for long-term well-being
Ultimately, I want my patients to get back to the life they want to live—fully present with the people they love and engaged in the activities that strengthen and enrich them.
